The New England College Baseball team closes out the regular season, as they host Becker College in a New England Collegiate Conference doubleheader starting at noon on Sunday.
New England College (13-13, 11-3 NECC) looking to head into postseason play on a high-note, as they swept the Saturday twin bill at Becker. Connor Morin led the offense yesterday, as he went 4-for-5 with four RBI, four steals, and five runs scored. Garrett Langis pushed his team-leading RBI total to 27 on the year. Michael Ciccotelli is right on his tail, as he now has 25 on the year, as he has 19 in the last eight games. Matt White is expected to throw in game one, as the senior is 1-1 on the year, with six strikeouts in 10.1 innings. Joseph Pascucci will start game two, as he is 2-3 this year, as he has 26 strikeouts in 33.1 innings.
Becker College (6-16, 6-8 NECC) is trying to carry over the offense that they generated in game two yesterday, into today's doubleheader. In game one, Colby Hussey went 2-for-3 with a homerun, while Carter Jackman was 2-for-3 with a double and run scored. Noah Rivera led the Hawks in game two, as he had three singles with two RBI. Niko Mokanos hit his second double of the day, as he also had two RBI.
Today's doubleheader will have placement implications. NEC can either get the one or two seed in the upcoming NECC Baseball tournament, while Becker will be either the three or the four seed.
