Box Score 2 ROCHDALE, Mass. - The New England College Baseball Team picks up a Saturday sweep of Becker College in New England Collegiate Conference action. After taking game one 6-3, the offense exploded for 14 runs to complete the sweep.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One – New England College 6, Becker College 3
New England College was the first team to strike, as Connor Morin singled home BJ Minarcin in the top of the first. Andrew Bumpus tied the game in the bottom of the first for the Hawks, as he singled home Anthony Conforti. The Pilgrims regained the lead in the top of the second, as Michael Ciccotelli drove in both Harutaro Takahashi and Rob Pagliuca with a single to right field. Pagliuca made it 4-1 NEC with an RBI single in the third.
The Pilgrims were able to plate two more runs in the fifth, as Takahashi doubled home Morin, before scoring himself on a passed ball.
Tim Krol picked up the win, as he struck out 10 over 5.0 innings and allowed just one earned run. Shawn Sears pitched the final two innings, as he struck out a pair.
Game Two – New England College 14, Becker College 6
NEC started out fast in game two, as Garrett Langis singled home Minarcin. Connor Morin made it 4-0 New England College early on, as the senior hit a three-run homerun to left field. In the top of the second, Ciccotelli added to the Pilgrims lead, as he tripled to left-center field, plating Devin Parson on the play. JD Normand pushed it to 6-0, as he doubled home Morin in the third.
Becker was finally able to get on the board in the bottom of the third inning, as they plated three runs. Michael Ciccotelli got two runs for the Pilgrims in the top of the fourth, as he pushed it to 8-3. After a two-run double in the bottom of the fourth by the Hawks, NEC got a solo homerun by Normand in the fifth. New England College started to pull away in the top of the sixth, as they plated three runs, with Langis and Morin grabbing RBIs. Langis capped off the scoring in the top of the seventh, as he hit a ground-rule double, plating a pair to take a 14-6 lead.
Wyatt Cameron got the start in game two for NEC, as the right-hander struck out 11 over 5.0 innings. Stephen Dunham pitched the final two innings, as he scattered three hits.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- On the day, Connor Morin went 4-for-5 with four RBI, five runs scored, and four steals.
- With both Krol and Cameron strikeout 10+ batters, it is the first time in program history, that both starters have struck out 10+ batters.
- After today's doubleheader, NEC leads the all-time series at 2-1.
