Box Score HENNIKER, N.H. - Powers by homeruns by Garrett Langis and Tyler Gendron and five solid innings on the mound from Shawn Sears, the New England College Baseball team picks up an 11-4 win over Keene State College, in non-conference action, Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pilgrims' offense started fast in the first inning, as Garrett Langis hit a two-run homerun, Tyler Gendron followed up Langis with a two-run shot of his own later on in the frame. With two outs in the bottom of the first, BJ Minarcin laced a two-out single up the middle, expanding the NEC lead to 5-0.
After batting around in the first inning, the 'Grims picked up where they left off, as Langis scampered home on a passed ball, before Rob Pagliuca drove home, Connor Morin, with an RBI single. Harutaro Takahashi stole home on a double steal before Logan Gadbois tripled home Pagliuca, then scoring on a Luca Giallongo single to center.
Keene State finally got a runner on base in the top of the third, as Giovanni Rodriguez had a one-out single. In the top of the fifth, Mike Collins got the Owls on the board with an RBI single to left. The next inning saw Joe Barter led off the inning with a solo blast to left field.
KSC was able to plate two runs in the top of the seventh, as Josh Beayon and Barter had back-to-back doubles, making it 10-4 NEC. New England College was able to get an insurance run in the bottom of the seventh, as Giallongo scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Morin.
Shawn Sears got his first start in a Pilgrims uniform, as the right-hander pitched 5.0 innings, allowing just three hits, one earned run while striking out nine.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
-This was the 21st all-time meeting between NEC and KSC, with the Owls still leading the series 16-5.
-This was the first time that New England College has hit multiple homeruns in a game, and they stole five bases on the afternoon.
-The Pilgrims pitching staff combined for nine innings, allowing eight hits, four runs, and striking out a season-high 15. This is the most strikeouts since NEC struck out 18 on April 13, 2019.
