Box Score 2 PAWTUCKET, R.I. – Rhode Island College's offense proves to be too much to handle, as the Anchormen sweep the New England College Baseball team following a doubleheader down at Pontarelli Field, Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One – Rhode Island College 12, New England College 3
New England College was able to get their offense started early on, as Garrett Langis took the first pitch of the game and doubled to left field. He would not wait long on the bases, as BJ Minarcin singled home Langis to put NEC up 1-0. The Pilgrims picked up two more runs in the second inning, as Devin Parson singled home one run before Langis beat out a double play, as Tyler Gendron scored on the play, making it 3-0 'Grims.
Rhode Island College came roaring back after being down 3-0, as they got one run in the bottom of the second, but then plated four runs in the bottom of the fourth to go up 5-3. In the bottom of the fifth, as John Willette capped off the five-run inning with a grand slam.
Game Two –Rhode Island College 14, New England College 7
The Pilgrims were able to strike first, as Johnny Cannavo singled home Rob Pagliuca in the top of the first inning. In the bottom half, RIC plated four runs in the frame to go up 4-1. The Anchormen were able to strike three times in the fourth before NEC was able to plate two runs in the sixth, as Minarcin hit a solo homerun and JD Normand doubled home Tim Krol.
RIC's offense struck six times in the bottom of the sixth and one more in the eighth to expand their lead to 14-3. NEC had a late rally in the top of the ninth, as they scored four runs, but fell 14-7.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
-This was the first time RIC and NEC have played each other.
- Rob Pagliuca's streak of HBP has ended at six games, after not getting plunked in game one.
