Box Score HENNIKER, N.H.-The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) has announced their weekly award selections for the week ending 3/2/20.
MEN'S LACROSSEJunior
Patrick Storiewas named NECC Player of the Week, after he was the team's leading scorer through three games, including a six-goal performance in a 12-11 win over Norwich this past Wednesday. He also tallied four goals in an overtime win over Gordon. On the week, Storie totaled 11 goals and one assist, leading the Pilgrims to a 2-1 record.
SOFTBALLJunior
Destiny Helmedachwas named as the NECC Player of the Week, after she led the Pilgrims to a 2-2 record, as she hit .583 with four home runs and seven RBI. Her slugging percentage was 1.625, with an on-base percentage of .556. In her top offensive performance of the week, she hit two home runs against Adrian, as the Pilgrims lost a close 6-5 game.
WOMEN'S LACROSSESophomore
Meghan Oliverwas selected as the NECC Player of the Week, after she netted five goals and an assist as the Pilgrims knocked off Johnson & Wales (Colo.), 14-5, in their first game of the 2020 campaign.
Junior
Alexandria Saffordwas named as the Defensive Player of the Week, as she had four caused turnovers, five ground balls, four draw controls as the Pilgrims beat Johnson & Wales (Colo.), 14-5. Safford helped hold JWU to just 12 shots on goal.
Freshman
Alexis Glaudewas picked as the Rookie of the Week, as she made an immediate impact for the Pilgrims in her first collegiate action, tallying two assists as New England College beat Johnson & Wales (Colo.), 14-5.
BASEBALLFreshman
Michael Ciccotelliwas named Rookie of the Week, after he helped the Pilgrims to a 2-1 week, batting .375 with three RBI. Ciccotelli had a hit and an RBI as NEC knocked off Emerson, 7-5. Then, in a 21-3 offensive onslaught over John Jay, the rookie went 2-for-3, with a double and two RBI.
