Box Score LEWISTON, ME. The New England College women's basketball team sees their six-game winning streak come to an end, as they fall to Bates College 96-55 in non-conference action, Tuesday night.
With the win, the Pilgrims drop to 16-5, while the Bobcats move to .500 on the year at 10-10
HOW IT HAPPENEDThe Bobcats were able to jump out to the early lead in the first quarter, as Bates shot 50 percent (10 for 20) in the opening 10 minutes to grab a 14 point advantage. The hosts continued to outshoot the Pilgrims in the second, as they made eight of 17 shots in the period while hitting four of five free throws.
Coming out of halftime, the Pilgrims attempted to make a comeback, but the Bobcats would have nothing of it, as they outscored NEC 30-14 in the third. In the final quarter, New England College picked up 18 points, but Bates was still able to expand their margin of victory down the stretch.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS-The Bobcats capitalized on New England College turnovers, as they scored 33 points off turnovers, compared to just 10 by the Pilgrims.
