Strong Start Leads to Women's Basketball Win Over Bay Path, 107-32

Box Score HENNIKER, N.H. The New England College women's basketball team improves to 9-1 in New England Collegiate Conference action, following the Pilgrims 107-32 win over Bay Path University Saturday evening.

With the win, the Pilgrims move to 16-4 overall and 9-1 in NECC action, while the Wildcats fall to 2-14 on the year and 1-8 in league action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pilgrims came out strong as they took a 21-0 lead and held the Lynx scoreless for the first seven minutes of the game. New England College kept rolling as they built a 33-2 lead heading into the second quarter. The Pilgrims outscored Lesley 23-6 in the second quarter for a 56-8 lead going into the break. New England College had 15 different players score a point in the first half. In the second half, the Pilgrims continued to score as they came away with a 107-32 victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
-The Pilgrims had 17 different scores in the victory.
-With a 75-point margin of victory tonight, it is the second-largest margin of victory in program history. NEC defeated Nathaniel Hawthorn 115-36, back on Dec. 6, 1982.
-New England College shared the ball well for their fourth straight game with 20+.
-With the win, NEC is now 7-0 all-time against the Lynx.

WHAT'S NEXT
The Pilgrims hit the road as they head up to Lewiston, Maine for a non-conference match-up against the Bobcats of Bates College. The game is set to take place at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, February 4th.
