HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hawks came out hot putting the pressure on with a shot and a penalty corner early on in the game. The Pilgrims were able to push back and even things up switching the field a little, but Becker was able to maintain possession and control for the majority of the first quarter. Despite the control from the Hawks, New England College was able to capitalize on an opportunity in the 14th minute. Leah Foster scored the goal off an assist from Brittany Tierney to take a 1-0 lead which NEC carried into the second quarter.

Becker was able to keep the pressure on in the second quarter with a shot on net early which led to a penalty corner for the Hawks. Becker was then able to score off of that opportunity to tie things up at 1-1. The Hawks kept pushing and were able to get a shot off and score off the rebound to take a 2-1 lead about halfway through the second. The Pilgrims saw several opportunities in the remainder of the quarter. They had 4 shots and one penalty corner but were unable to find the back of the net, leading to a 2-1 deficit heading into halftime.

The third quarter started much more even with neither team taking control. However, NEC was able to even things up at 2-2 just over five minutes into the third off an unassisted goal from Brittany Tierney. The Pilgrims kept pushing offensively and were able to pick up a penalty corner which led to a goal about five minutes later. Zoe Pedler picked up the goal off an assist from Lilli McCormack for a 3-2 lead, which they were able to hold for the remainder of the third.

Momentum stayed on New England College's side in the fourth as Becker received a green card in the third minute.
