Box Score HENNIKER, N.H. The New England College women's basketball team downed Bay Path University in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) play by a 86-23 score.
The Pilgrims will improve to 5-7 on the season with a 4-2 record in the NECC while the Wildcats will fall to 1-9 on their season with a 0-5 record in the NECC.
NEC LEADERS
Rene Hudson and
Kayla Goldring led the Pilgrim offense with 23 points and 10 points, the only double digit scorers for the Pilgrims.
Charisse Thomas led all players in rebounds with 11.
Asia Jones had four assists in the contest.
BAY PATH LEADERS
Emmeline Bronson led the Wildcat offense with 19 points. Samantha Drapinski led the Wildcats in rebounds with six.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pilgrims jumped out to an early lead having recorded the first eight points of the contest with four points each from Hudson and Goldring. The Pilgrims would continue to extend their lead after outscoring the Wildcats by a 19-3 margin to close out the quarter. The Pilgrims grabbed the first points of the second quarter but Bronson quickly responded. The Pilgrims however would overpower the Wildcats in the rest of the quarter, outscoring them 20-8. The Pilgrims would continue their strong play by outscoring the Wildcats 19-4 in the third quarter and a 20-8 margin in the final frame.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
-This was the fourth meeting all-time between the Wildcats and Pilgrims. The Pilgrims are now 4-0 against the Wildcats.
