Box Score HENNIKER, N.H.-The New England College field hockey team suffered a 3-1 loss to the Chargers of Colby-Sawyer College on Wednesday evening in non-conference action.
The loss drops NEC to 1-7 on the season, while Colby-Sawyer improves to 6-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
a minute and a half into the second half, Julia Lanctot (Sandown, N.H.) and Rachel Fisher (Lynn, Mass.) had a two-on-one opportunity with the NEC goalkeeper. Lanctot carried it to the inside of the circle, drew the attention of the keeper, and passed to Fisher who poked it in.
Nearly three minutes later, Allie Jones (Cape Neddick, Maine) had the ball in traffic in the middle a few yards in front of the net and fed it to Sierra Schuster (Hopkinton, N.H.) on the right wing for the open look on net.
In the 46
th minute, Jones rocked a shot from a step inside the circle on the top off of a penalty corner. Shuster assisted on the goal.
The Pilgrims got in the board in the 49
th minute on a goal by
Sofia Castriotta (Framingham, Mass.), who redirected a shot by Brittany Tierney (Ottowa, Ontario).
The Chargers outshot the Pilgrims 18-14 on the day, but NEC put more on net 9-7.
GOALKEEPERS
The Chargers received eight saves from Abby Ladd, while NEC's
Christine McNeil (Pawcatuck, Conn.) finished with four saves.
