Box Score FLEMINGTON, N.J. The New England College Baseball used power to muscle their way to two victories against Centenary University on Thursday. Between the two games, the Pilgrims blasted six homeruns, four in the first game and two in the second.
The Pilgrims will improve to 6-3 while the Cyclones will fall to 3-3.
GAME ONE: NEC 15, CENTENARY 3
The Pilgrims jumped on the board early when
Christian Aybar (Pawtucket, R.I.) hit his first career NCAA homerun in the first at-bat of the game. The Cyclones would tie the game at 1-1 in the bottom half of the inning. The Pilgrims would then score 13 runs between the second inning and the end of the seventh inning. This was powered by two homeruns by
Jeam Castillo (Lynn, Mass.) and a Manuel Alejandro (East Hartford, Conn.) homerun. Castillo's homerun and Alejandro's homerun came in back-to-back homeruns in top of the

th.
Shayne Audet (Springfield, Mass.) turned in another solid performance as the freshman improved to 3-0 on the season. Audet threw 6.0 innings, striking out seven, and only
giving up two hits.
GAME TWO: NEC 11, CENTENARY 2
Nick Powers (Malden, Mass) threw a complete game in game two by striking out nine batters and only giving up five hits in the contest. The Pilgrims would grab an early lead by getting two runs across the board before Luis Atiles (Dorchester, Mass.) drove a ball over the fence to double the Pilgrim lead in only the second inning. The Pilgrims would hold a 7-2 lead headed into the eighth when Aybar would hit his second home run on the day, this time, a grand slam to put the game out of reach.
Powers will improve to 2-0 on the season.
