Box Score HENNIKER, N.H.-The New England College women's basketball team edged above the .500 mark with an 89-40 win over Bay Path University on Sunday in non-conference action. The win boosts NEC to 8-7 on the season, while Bay Path falls to 0-16.
NEC LEADERS
The Pilgrims received 17 points from sophomore Rene Hudson (Gallatin, Tenn.).15 of her points were from three-point range. Classmate Haleigh Martin (Bergenfield, N.J.) and freshman
Samantha Broyer (Kingston, N.H.) both finished with 10 points apiece. All 13 players recorded at least two points for the Pilgrims in the win.
BAY PATH LEADERS
The Wildcats received a game-high 22 points from Emmeline Bronson off of 6-for-20 shooting from the floor plus a 9-for-10 effort at the free-throw line. Shameria Armstead chipped in with seven points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pilgrims scored their first basked 36 seconds into the game and did not look back, using a 27-11 first quarter and a 31-6 second quarter to build a 58-17 halftime lead.
Eleven of 13 players scored for NEC in the first half, led by Hudson with 14 points and Martin with 10 points. The Pilgrims hit 46.5 percent (20-43) of their first-half shots, while Bay Path was 5-of-22 from the floor (22.7 percent).
NEC won the third quarter by outscoring their guests 23-6, but Bay Path claimed the fourth quarter with a 17-8 scoring advantage.
The Pilgrims held advantages in all five scoring categories: points in the paint (42-16), points off turnovers (40-13), second-chance points (21-3), fast break points (16-0) and bench points (50-3).

The Pilgrims will be back in action on Tuesday for their third home game in four days and will host Lyndon State at 5:30 p.m.
