Box Score Henniker, N.H. Four different Chargers netted goals as the Colby-Sawyer field hockey team topped the New England College Pilgrims 4-2 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) East action Saturday afternoon.

With the win the Chargers improve to 7-2 overall and 1-0 in the NAC East. The loss drops the Pilgrims to 3-6 on the season and 0-1 in NAC East play.

SCORING

The Pilgrims would strike early as Aislinn deHorsey would dribble through a handful of Charger defenders netting her thirteenth goal of the season just 2:38 into the contest. Colby-Sawyer's Rachel Fisher would knot the game at 1-1 at the 9:33 mark as she would rebound in a shot. The Chargers would take the lead just minutes later as Erika Leach would one-time in a nice feed from Kailyn Lapham in the 11th minute. Colby-Sawyer's Ashley Mikkila would give the Chargers the 3-1 lead right before halftime on scoring on another rebound.

Colby-Sawyer would extend their lead to 4-1 in the 39th minute as Alie Jones would put in a loose ball in front of the net. NEC would grab a goal back in the 58th minute as Brittany Tierney would score assisted by Leah Foster.

GOALTENDING

Picking up the win in net for Colby-Sawyer was Xena Ras who recorded five saves.

In goal for NEC was Michaela Clark who recorded an impressive 24 saves.

"We left out hearts out on the field today. Colby-Sawyer had some nice finishes and were able to keep the pressure on. We picked up the tempo in the second half and just weren't able to connect," head coach Kristen Gillis.

WHAT'S NEXT

New England College will return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 28 when they travel to play non-conference opponent Mount Ida College.

Colby-Sawyer will take the field again on Wednesday, Sept. 28 as well when they travel to take on Rivier University.
