Two Second Half Goals Lift Amcats Past Pilgrims

Box Score Paxton, Mass. Anna Maria College field hockey would net two second half goals lifting the Amcats past the New England College Pilgrims 2-0 Tuesday evening.

With the win the Amcats improve to 4-3 on the season, while the loss drops the Pilgrims to 3-5 overall.

SCORING

The scoreless streak ended in the 46th minute when Anna Maria's Kaitlyn Moran dribbled around a defender to the top of the circle, where she fired a hard shot for first score of the game.

Nine minutes later, the AMCATS had as scrum in front of the net in which Moran shot twice before feeding the ball through the goaltender's leg's to freshman Anne Melanson who tipped it in for her second goal of the season.

GOALKEEPERS

In goal for NEC was Michaela Clark who recorded seven saves on the night.

Picking up the win for Anna Maria was Bryanna Tobin who made four saves.

New England College will return to action on Saturday, September 24 when they open North Atlantic Conference play hosting Colby-Sawyer College.
