HENNIKER, N.H. - Junior Emil Elias (Ekerö, Sweden) of the New England College men's golf team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Golfer of the Week for the opening week of the season ending on September 6th.  

Elias had a stellar performance at the Country Club of New Hampshire for the NEC Fall Invitational on Saturday.  He ended all 18 holes with an overall par, including an eagle on the final one.  The match ended in a tie for first place between sophomore Aiden Boule (Concord, N.H.) and Elias, who went on to win the playoff hole.  Elias finalized the scoresheet with two birdies, including nothing over a par in the final nine holes.  His efforts helped the Pilgrims finish in second place overall as a team.   

The Pilgrims will continue their season tomorrow at the Tony Mariano Invitational, hosted by Norwich University at the Country Club of Barre.  The tee time is scheduled for 10 a.m.
