HENNIKER, N.H. - The Pilgrims suffered a non-conference loss to Wentworth on Thursday, falling to the Leopards by a final score of 17-0 at Laurie Cox Memorial Field in Henniker, New Hampshire. 

NEC was held to five hits scattered across the shortened, seven-inning game, with senior Nick Hernandez (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) responsible for two of them with a pair of singles in a 2-for-4 effort. 

Junior Nick Becker (Portland, Maine) went 1-for-2 with a walk, while both graduate Tyler Fenton (Wilmington, Mass.) and senior Jackson Round (Cayuga, Ont.) added hits on the afternoon.  

Making his first collegiate appearance on the mound, freshman Tanner Jacko (Tillsonburg, Ont.) struck out one in a scoreless sixth inning. Junior Colby Rohr (Highland Village, Tex.) punched out two Leopards in the seventh. 

For Wentworth, Caleb Cormier led the way with a 4-for-5 day, driving in two runs and scoring three times. Matt Robinson went 2-for-6 with three RBIs. The Leopards totaled 15 hits while also capitalizing on nine walks and five Pilgrim errors. 

NEC now sets their eyes on their final home doubleheader of the season on Saturday as they host Colby-Sawyer in a pivotal GNAC matchup on senior day. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 12:00 PM with the senior day celebration coming between games.
