HENNIKER, N.H. - New England College Men's Lacrosse fell in their home opener to the University of Southern Maine 10-4.

The Pilgrims let up the first goal just under eight minutes in before countering with a goal from junior Matt O'Rourke (Concord, N.H.) just three and a half minutes later. The Huskies jumped out to a 5-1 lead at the half where they would hold on to secure the win.

Junior Brody McGonigle (Concord, N.H.) led the Pilgrims with two goals, as O'Rourke and junior Andrew Pepka (Pembroke, N.H.) added one as well. McGonigle and graduate Evan Zonderman (Dracut, Mass.) each added an assist while Zonderman led the team with 11 ground balls, as well as two caused turnovers. Junior goalie Nate Finn (Norwood, Mass.) made 12 saves on 22 shots from the Huskies.
