HENNIKER, N.H. - New England College senior Matt Guzman (San Bernardino, Calif.) of the NEC men's soccer team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Goalkeeper of the Week for the week ending on October 4th.

Guzman turned in a strong week between the posts, playing all 180 minutes as the Pilgrims earned their first conference win of the season and battled to a scoreless draw. The senior recorded seven saves in NEC's 1-0 shutout victory over Regis on Tuesday before adding another save in Saturday's 0-0 draw at Mitchell.

The San Bernardino, Calif. native finished the week with a perfect 1.00 save percentage and has continued to rank among the GNAC's top goalkeepers throughout the season. He currently ranks third in the conference in save percentage (.848), goals against (5), and goals-against average (0.81).

Guzman and the 'Grims return home for a pair of conference contests this week, hosting Emmanuel on Wednesday at 7:00 PM before welcoming the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) to Don Melander Field on Saturday for a 1:00 PM matchup.
