HENNIKER, N.H. - The New England College women's rugby team lost two games at Old Concord Road on Saturday morning by a score of 31-19 against Bryant University and 31-5 against Thomas College.

In the first match against Bryant, the Pilgrims led 19-14 at half, as graduate Karime Camarena-Tejeda (Miami, Fla.) ran for three tries.  However, the Bulldogs played lockdown defense in the second half to steal the battle and win by a score of 31-19.  Freshman Emma Malarkey (Stoneham, Mass.) went two for three on the conversions.

The second game of the morning provided the 'Grims with a chance to avenge their loss against Thomas College last weekend.  Freshman Keira Marling (Georgetown, Ont.) wasted no time collecting the first five points of the game for NEC.  However, the Terriers' defense put the foot on the gas and did not let up anymore points.  Thomas ended the game with 31 unanswered points, including two tries scored directly off kickoffs.

NEC returns to action in two weeks on Saturday, October 17th at Bryant University.
