HENNIKER, N.H. - Junior forward Dylan Duckson (Mahtomedi, Minn.) of the NEC men's ice hockey team has been named the Little East Conference (LEC) Player of the Week for the week ending on January 11th.Â
Duckson had a big weekend for the 'Grims, scoring a goal in each of their games, but most notably netting the game-winning score in NEC's upset win over #7 ranked Babson on Saturday. With under two minutes to play in the second period, while the Beavers were on the power-play, Duckson forced a turnover and flipped the script as he scored the first short-handed goal of his career.Â
The goal would also prove to be the first game-winner of his career as the 'Grims held on for the 2-1 win. The loss was Babson's first in conference play of the season as the win became the Pilgrims' highest against a ranked opponent since January of 2022. Duckson's short-handed goal was the first given up by the Beavers this season.Â
Dylan also added a goal in the team's narrow 4-3 loss to the University of Southern Maine on Friday. The junior has already set a new career-high with three goals this season in just 10 games.Â
Duckson and the Pilgrims will now go on a quick road trip to Fitchburg State on Thursday for a non-conference matchup against the Falcons before returning home to host Plymouth State on Saturday, January 17th.Â
