HENNIKER, N.H. - The New England College men's golf team continued their fall slate at the Tony Mariano Invitational, held at the Country Club of Barre and hosted by Norwich University on Wednesday. 

Senior Graham Hassan (Pinckney, Mich.) led the way for the Pilgrims, posting a 72 (+1) to finish second overall. Hassan opened with a steady 35 on the front nine before closing with a 37 (+1) on the back. Sophomore Bryce Sturm (Lake in the Hills, Ill.) finished tied for fifth with a round of 78 (+7). After a challenging front nine of 40 (+5), Sturm bounced back with a 38 (+2) on the back nine, highlighted by back-to-back pars on 17 and 18 to close strong.  

Fellow sophomore Vesse-Wincent Lampen (Espoo, Finland) finished tied for 13th after carding an 82 (+11). Lampen recorded a 42 (+7) on the front before improving to a 40 (+4) on the inward nine, battling through steady winds and fast greens. Senior Jack Herron (Turner, Maine) posted a round of 87 (+16) to finish 26th, while Dalton Gordon (Boscawen, N.H.) rounded out the team scoring with a 92 (+21), placing 31st.  

As a team, the Pilgrims put together a total score of 319 and tied with Gordon College for 2nd place. On the individual side, Cooper Bertrand from Norwich University claimed medalist honors with a 69 (-2).  

The men return to action on Saturday September 20th and Sunday September 21st at the Castleton Invitational hosted by Castleton University at the Rutland Country Club.
