Men’s Soccer Triumphs over University of Maine Presque Isle, 4-0

HENNIKER, N.H. - The New England Men's Soccer team recorded their second straight victory on Saturday afternoon; defeating University of Maine - Presque Isle, 4-0

The first goal of the game came from freshman Ezekiel Weir (St. George, Utah) in the 10th minute, cresting in a cross from fellow freshman Cooper Foster (Ashby, Mass.) to give the 'Grims the early lead.

Four minutes later senior Noel Huliselan (Jakarta, Indonesia) netted his first of the game and season in the box off a header from a high pass from Weir.

The men padded their lead with a third goal in the first half by scoring off a right-side corner kick by junior Jack Labroad (East Kingston, N.H.) who was able to find senior Patrick Tewksbury (Londonderry, N.H.) and find the top right corner of the net.

NEC would hold possession for a majority of the last 45 minutes of the match. With a late round goal coming in the 62nd minute from assisted header sophomore Luis Davila (Hudson, N.H.) to Tewksbury who headed the ball backwards to Huliselan who scored to the bottom corner to close out the match.

With the win, NEC improves to 2-0 and will look to stay victorious when they go to Lyndonville, VT to play VSU Lyndon on Saturday September 6th at 2:00.
