MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The New England College baseball team fell to Stevenson University on Saturday afternoon, continuing Spring Break action in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After the Stevenson University Mustangs plated one run in the first, the 'Grims responded with a run in the second and four runs in the third; The third inning rally was highlighted by RBI singles from junior infielder Yeri Ramos (Loiza, P.R.) and senior outfielder Kyle Dobrie (Mastic, N.Y.), as well as a bases-loaded walk of graduate catcher Aaron Robertson (Weare, N.H.).
- The Mustangs had an answer of their own, following with a three-run third inning off of two home runs, a four-run fourth, and a four-run fifth, putting Stevenson in command, 12-5.
- The 'Grims would muster some offense in the top of the sixth inning, with junior David Spigel (Portsmouth, R.I.) and graduate Bryce Worth (Southington, Conn.) each hitting base knocks. Ramos would score another run on a sacrifice fly and junior outfielder Harold Martinez (Wethersfield, Conn.) would plate the team's fourth run of the inning on an RBI single of his own.
- The sixth inning rally by the Pilgrims would be immediately matched by the Mustangs who turned the lineup over, sending 13 batters to the plate and scoring nine runs. In the top of the 7th, Dobrie would slug a leadoff double, but Stevenson reliever Mason Gove (Circleville, N.Y.) would strikeout the next three 'Grims to end the game after seven innings.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Stevenson pitcher Sommers Turner (Kensington, Md.) was credited with the win after going two-and-two thirds of relief, while NEC starter junior Christopher Chagnon (Portsmouth, R.I.) was dealt the loss.
- The Mustangs received big-time production from Kaige Garrity (Monroe, Conn.) and Dalton Reinhart (Lebanon, Pa.); The two and three hitters combined to reach base 10 times, going 8-for-8 with eight RBIs and eight runs scored.
- NEC had five players record two hits on the day in Spigel, Worth, Ramos, Martinez, and Dobrie. Ramos and Dobrie each drove in two runs while Worth scored twice.
- The Pilgrims were outhit 17-12 on the afternoon. Meanwhile, the Mustangs were running wild on the basepaths, stealing five bases to the Pilgrims' zero.
