HENNIKER, N.H. - New England College sophomore forward Gunnar Sibley (Monticello, Minn.) of the NEC men's ice hockey team was named the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Player of the Week for the week ending on February 23rd.
Sibley becomes the fourth member of this 'Grims squad to be named the conference's Player of the Week. Sibley totaled four points in NEC's two games against Albertus Magnus over the weekend, scoring two goals and being credited with two assists. In Friday's playoff clinching win over the Falcons, the sophomore netted the game's first goal, in a short-handed situation, in the eventual 2-1 victory. On Saturday, Sibley scored again while adding two assists to secure a +2 rating on the ice for the week.

He has scored three game-winning goals this season and a team-high three short-handed goals. His three short-handed goals rank first in the NEHC and tied-for-fourth in the nation while the Pilgrims' team total of six this year are tied for the most in the NEHC with top-ranked Hobart.
