GENEVA, N.Y. – The New England College men's ice hockey team suffered a 6-0 loss at the hands of top-ranked Hobart College on Friday night at The Cooler in Geneva, New York in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The defending national champion Statesmen were able to break through and score the game's first goal 11:40 into the opening period. Luke Aquaro (Yardley, Pa.) came through with the score to give Hobart the 1-0 advantage entering the first intermission.
- The second period was all Hobart as the hosts netted four goals to jump out to a 5-0 lead. They would add one more score in the third period to take the 6-0 conference win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- NEC freshman goaltender Anthony Beaulieu (Lawrence, Mass.) played the first two periods, allowing five goals and making 31 saves. He was relieved by junior goaltender Danny Miscavish (Macomb, Mich.) in the third who stopped 10/11 shots on net.
- Hobart goaltender Damon Beaver (Whitby, Ont.) made 10 saves in the shutout.
- Shots on goal were 47-10 in favor of the Statesmen.
