Football Falls to Endicott at Home

HENNIKER, N.H. - New England College Football suffered a CNE defeat to the Endicott College Gulls on Saturday with a 63-0 final. Pregame, seniors Aidan McDonald (Salem, N.H.) and Icean Taylor (Manchester, N.H.) were honored as part of senior day.

The Pilgrims produced two first downs on their opening drive as they marched down to Endicott's 26-yard line before turning the ball over on downs. NEC's defense got the pressure on early as sophomore Ethan Cenesca (Manchester, N.H.) and sophomore Erik Menger (Stratham, N.H.) stepped up with a stoppage on first down before pressuring Gulls quarterback Shea Lynch on third down to force an incompletion. Endicott quickly answered with a 51-yard touchdown on 4th and 1 to start the scoring.

The Gulls found the end zone eight more times in the conference win. Junior running back McDonald led the Pilgrims with 22 rushing yards. Leading the receiving for NEC was Austin Normandin (Gilford, N.H.), who added a 20 yard reception. McDonald and sophomore Ben Roy (Windham, N.H.) also contributed a reception for 10+ yards.

Cenesca recorded 2.5 tackles for a loss and led the team with 13 tackles, as well as having the most solo tackles with nine.

The Pilgrims close out their return season with a road matchup against the Nor'easters of the University of New England on Saturday, kicking off at noon.
