Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

Men’s Ice Hockey Clipped by Corsairs, 2-1

HENNIKER, N.H. - The New England College men's ice hockey team suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of UMass-Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon at Lee Clement Arena in Little East Conference (LEC) action.

The Corsairs would strike first in the Saturday afternoon matchup as Tyler Stewart put UMass-Dartmouth up 1-0 5:15 into the opening period.

With 6:34 left in the first period, the Pilgrims would find the equalizer as senior Graham Hassan (Pinckney, Mich.) scored his second goal of the season to knot the game up at 1-1. Freshman Jaeseok Lee (Suwon, South Korea) was credited with the assist – his second on the short season.

Deep into the second period, the visitors would regain the lead on a goal by Chris Cardillo with 6:27 left in the frame. The Corsairs would not relinquish that lead for the remainder of the game as they racked up 27 blocked shots and forced the Pilgrims to go 0-for-4 on power plays.

Seeing his first start of the season, senior Danny Miscavish (Macomb, Mich.) was dealt the loss while making 19 saves. UMD's Marshall McKallip made 39 stops.

The Pilgrims continue LEC play next weekend as they host Western Connecticut State on Friday night at 7:00 PM and Keene State on Saturday at 4:00 PM.
