HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Just three minutes later, the Pilgrims capitalized on a power play as NEC senior forward Jesper Tarkiainen (Naperville, Ill.) scored his third goal of the season, assisted by Herron and sophomore center Paul Waldhauser (Klagenfurt, Austria), as the 'Grims went into the first intermission up 2-0.
  • Just 8:44 into the second period, Osipik scored his second goal of the game and his seventh of the season, assisted by Herron and NEC graduate defenseman Zach Nelson (Hudson, Mass.). The 3-0 score would hold up, as the 'Grims took their third straight win, all in NEHC league play.
