HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College women's ice hockey team endured a tough loss against the visiting Herons of Williams Smith College, 8-0 on Friday at the Lee Clement Arena in Henniker, New Hampshire in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Things got off to a quick start in favor of Herons as they jumped out to a two-goal lead over the 'Grims in just first three minutes of play. NEC managed to lock in for the remainder of the period allowing no more scoring to take place. Offense was difficult to come by as NEC only mustered up two shots as the Herons had 34.
- WSC picked up right where they left off keeping their foot on the gas scoring 40 seconds into the second period establishing a three goal lead. The offensive onslaught did not cease there as they buried an additional two goals that bestowed the Herons with a commanding five goal advantage over the 'Grims by the conclusion of the second period.
- NEC was unable to recover from the damage that was inflicted by the Herons as they tacked on three more to the scoreboard bestowing them with a convincing win over NEC on the evening, 8-0.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- NEC freshman goaltender Kayden Lallier-Whissell (Stevensville, Ontario) did all she could in net as she finished with 55 saves.
- WSC senior goaltender Erin Murray (Hanover, Mass.) collected six saves.
- Shots on goal were in favor of the Herons, 63-6.
- WSC senior forward Kayla Ketchabaw (Rye Brook, N.Y.) excelled on the ice recording the game-high in points gathering four as she scored one goal and three assists. Senior forward Lauren Legler (Beaconsfield, Quebec) had a solid outing for the Herons, having the game-high in goals as she finished with two.
