Men’s Golf Takes First at Keene State

KEENE, N.H. – The New England College men's golf team competed at the Keene State Invitational hosted by Keene State College on Friday afternoon at the Keene Country Club in Keene, New Hampshire, coming in first place out of nine teams.

It is their fifth win in six invitationals this season.

TOP 'GRIMS

NEC junior Graham Hassan (Pinckney, Mich.) had the best round for the 'Grims for the third time in seven tries this season, posting a two under par for a 70 and tying for first place. Hassan then battled Cooper Bertrand (Calendon, Ont.) of Norwich University in a playoff for the championship medal, coming up just short.
Senior Timothy Carlson (Albany, N.Y.) posted a one over par with a 73.
Freshman Ryan Waring (Gilmanton, N.H.), coming off claiming his first GNAC Rookie of the Week award, was third-best for the Pilgrims, posting a score of 74 for two over par.
Freshman Bryce Sturm (Lake in the Hills, Ill.), another rookie standout for the 'Grims, was three over par with a 75.
Freshman Vesse-Wincent Lampen (Espoo, Finland) brought up the rear with an 85 for thirteen over par.
NEC's combined score of 292 for four over par set a modern school record.

UP NEXT

NEC will compete next on Sunday, October 6^th when they host Norwich University in a dual match, that beginning at 12:00 p.m.
