HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College field hockey team won 2-1 over visiting Plymouth State University on Thursday evening at Don Melander Field in Henniker, New Hampshire.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless first half, the Pilgrims turned to NEC senior midfielder Meaghan McCamish (Warwick, R.I.) to get rolling, as junior forward Cristina Manzi (Peapack, N.J.) found her on a breakaway and the fourth-year standout finished for her team-leading ninth goal of the season as the hosts went ahead 1-0 in the 37th minute.
- With just 5:20 remaining in the game, the Panthers got the equalizer from Plymouth State sophomore midfielder Sarah Adamske (Windham, N.H.), tying it up at 1-1 with an assist to freshman midfielder Georgia Coleman (North Conway, N.H.).
- Just as it looked as if the game might go to overtime, NEC freshman midfielder Kennedy Overhoff (Whitfield, N.H.) picked the best possible moment to score her first career goal, coming out of a hodge podge in front of the Panther net and finishing for the game-winner.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- NEC junior goalkeeper Makenzie Anderson (Antrim, N.H.) finished with six saves on the night for the 'Grims.
- Plymouth State graduate goalkeeper Kayla Antonucci (Windham, N.H.) likewise posted six stops for the Panthers.
- Overall shots were 16-11 in favor of Plymouth State.
