HENNIKER, N.H. – Sophomores
Grace Giesler (La Mirada, Calif.) and
Ashleigh Lemay (Derry, N.H.) of the New England College softball team were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for the 2024 season in an announcement by the CSC this week.
Giesler, a shortstop, hit .345 for the Pilgrims with team-highs of 49 hits, six triples and 69 total bases. The sophomore standout reached the 100 career-hit plateau in just her second season in Henniker, and 2024 saw her set the school record for assists in the field with 103.
Lemay, a second baseman, was one of the most improved players of this year's team, raising her on-base percentage by more than a hundred points from the previous season. Lemay's 18 walks in 2024 not only led the Pilgrims; they tied the NEC single-season record.
The College Sports Communicators – formerly CoSIDA – have recognized outstanding academics among student-athletes since 1952.
Congratulations to Grace and Ashleigh, and to all the honorees of this year's All-District team!
