Baseball Finishes Spring Break Trip Against Catholic

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The New England College baseball team lost 7-1 to Catholic University on Tuesday afternoon at Griffith Field in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Down 4-0 in the bottom of the fifth, the Pilgrims got on the board when NEC junior shortstop Tyler Fenton (Wilmington, Mass.) hit an RBI triple to right center to drive in graduate second baseman Bryce Worth (Southington, Conn.). Fenton finished two-of-four on the day.
  • NEC sophomore outfielder Christopher Chagnon (Portsmouth, R.I.) pitched three-and-two-thirds innings in relief, striking out five and allowing no earned runs.
  • NEC senior first baseman Brett Patnode (Weare, N.H.) walked twice.
UP NEXT
  • NEC is back on the field on Thursday when they travel to WPI for a 3:30 p.m. game.
  • Catholic plays Coast Guard on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m.
