HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College women's ice hockey team fell to visiting UMass-Boston on Friday evening at Lee Clement Arena in Henniker, New Hampshire in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- 3:23 into the 'Grims conference opener, it would be the Beacons who would strike first on a goal from Allie Reifler (Binghamton, N.Y.) on a pass from Liz Kramp (Farmington Hills, Mich.). Exactly five minutes later, at 8:23 in the first period, this time Kramp would convert on a UMass-Boston fastbreak opportunity to put the Beacons up 2-0.
- In a scoreless second period, NEC sophomore goaltender Amy Donnelly (Taunton, Mass) made 21 saves to temporarily keep the Beacons off the board. However, in the third period, UMass-Boston would score a pair of goals within 30 seconds of one another at 13:32 and 13:58. The 4-0 visitors' lead would remain intact over the final six minutes of action, sending the Pilgrims to 0-1 in conference play to kick off the team's NEHC slate.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Donnelly amassed 45 saves in net for NEC. This is tied for the most saves Donnelly has made in a game in her career (45 @Worcester State, 11/18/22).
- UMass-Boston's Leah Bosch (Minnetonka, Minn.) made nine saves in the shutout.
- Shots on goal were 49-9 in favor of the Beacons.
- UMass-Boston won roughly two-thirds of the shutouts on the night, 33-16.
- NEC had 17 blocked shots to UMB's four.
