HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College men's soccer team battled to a 0-0 tie against visiting Johnson & Wales University in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Wednesday evening at Don Melander Field in Henniker, New Hampshire.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Playing against the Wildcats of Johnson & Wales, the defending GNAC Champions who entered the day with a perfect 6-0 record in conference play, the 'Grims put on a gritty defensive performance, led by senior goalkeeper Hayden Walker (Manchester, N.H.) who posted eleven saves for his third shutout of the season.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Walker's eleven saves were one off a career high. It was just the second time this season that Johnson & Wales were shutout.
- JWU senior goalkeeper Declan Caster (Charlestown, R.I.) posted three saves on the night for the Wildcats for the shutout.
- JWU junior forward Carlos Andrade (Cranston, R.I.) had a game-high seven shots including five on-goal. NEC sophomore forward Chase Gurtowsky (Torrington, Conn.) had three shots off the bench for the Pilgrims.
- Total shots were 20-12 in favor of the visitors.
- The game was a rematch of last year's GNAC quarterfinals where NEC saw their season come to an end with a 2-0 loss to Johnson & Wales.
