Men’s Golf Claims Second Straight GNAC Championship

NEC Men's Golf wins their second straight GNAC Championship!
CONCORD, N.H. - The New England College men's golf team prevailed at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships hosted by NEC at the Concord Country Club in Concord, New Hampshire on Tuesday, coming in first out of eight teams. The 'Grims posted scores of 318 on Monday and 302 on Tuesday, winning by 26 strokes.
 
TOP 'GRIMS
  • NEC freshman Ryan Waring (Gilmanton, N.H.) enjoyed a breakout tournament for the Pilgrims, coming in with scores of 77 and 72 for nine over par to medal in a field of forty players. With his victory, Waring claims the GNAC Player of the Year award as well as All-GNAC first team honors.
  • Senior Timothy Carlson (Albany, N.Y.) finished one stroke behind Waring in second place, finishing at ten over par and making GNAC first team All-Conference for the second straight season.
  • Freshman Vesse-Wincent Lampen (Espoo, Finland) made All-GNAC second team, finishing at twenty over par.
  • Freshman Bryce Sturm (Lake in the Hills, Ill.) was also second team GNAC All-Conference with a +23.
