HENNIKER, N.H. - New England College freshman Ryan Waring (Gilmanton, N.H.) of the NEC men's golf team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week for the week ending September 29th, 2024.
Waring followed up last week's GNAC recognition with a pair of strong performances this week. On Wednesday, Waring placed ninth at the Brett Williamson Invitational posting a 78 (+7) and finished fifth at the Keene State Invitational on Friday with a 74 (+2). NEC won both invitationals by margins of nine and 15 strokes, respectively, with Waring playing a key role in the team's success in his first year in Henniker.
"Ryan has playing so well for us," said head coach Travis Banga. "He is a great player that never gives up on the course. He has been a wonderful addition to our team."
Waring and the Pilgrims are back on the course on Sunday, October 6th, for match play against Norwich University at the Country Club of New Hampshire in North Sutton, New Hampshire. Tee time is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
