Efosa Dubbed Pilgrim of the Month for December
HENNIKER, N.H. - The New England College Athletics Department has named sophomore guard Junior Efosa (Haverhill, Mass.) of the NEC men's basketball team their Pilgrim of the Month for December 2023.

Efosa has put together a strong sophomore campaign for the Pilgrims, showing what he can do in his first full season after joining the team midway through last season. Efosa leads the team in scoring with 12.2 points per game, and ranks second in rebounds per game with 6.3, despite having played just the fifth most minutes – averaging 19.8 per game. But Efosa has started all 13 games this season, thus far, and has proven he can be a consistent source of scoring and a difference-maker for the team.

In the month of December, Efosa averaged 14.0 points and 6.7 rebounds per game, in 21.1 minutes of action per game. He hit double figures in five of the team's six games, while collecting his second double-double of the season in a 20-point, 11-rebound performance against Wentworth on December 14th. His best showing of the season, however, came one week earlier against Northern Vermont University-Johnson on December 7th, where the sophomore scored a career-high 27 points to will the 'Grims to a 71-63 victory over the Badgers.

After kicking off the new year with a win over Eastern Nazarene College, Efosa and the rest of the men's basketball team now looks ahead to resuming Great Northeast Athletic Conference play as they host Rivier University on Saturday, January 6th, at 3:30 PM.
