HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College women's basketball team won 56-47 over visiting Elms College on Saturday afternoon at the Bridges Gymnasium in Henniker, New Hampshire in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.

TURNING POINTS
- Down by two going into the fourth quarter, the 'Grims clamped down on the Blazers on the defensive end, embarking on an 8-2 run capped off with a layup from NEC senior center Kathleen Rodriguez (McFarland, Calif.) to take the lead. Tied at 47-47 with two minutes left in the game, NEC closed out the game on a 9-0 run, including a three-point play from senior guard Juliana Hernandez (McFarland, Calif.).
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Rodriguez shot seven-of-eight from the floor, leading the Pilgrims with 14 points, ten rebounds, two assists, a block and a steal.
- Elms senior guard Rahmia Johnston (Trumbull, Conn.) led all scorers with 18 points to go along with six rebounds and three assists for the Blazers.
- NEC junior guard Zaniya Moody (Hampton, Va.) had her best game as a 'Grim, pulling down a career-high ten rebounds while dishing out four assists in just 19 minutes.
- Elms first-year guard Jade Lewis (Orlando, Fla.) posted ten points with four steals.
- Hernandez overcame a slow start to finish with ten points and three rebounds.
- NEC enjoyed a 51-34 rebounding advantage over the Blazers, with a 40.4 to 25.4 field goal percentage edge.
