Monks Too Much for Women’s Basketball

STANDISH, Maine – Facing the defending Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) champions for the first time as league opponents, the New England College women's basketball team lost 78-49 at Saint Joseph's College Maine on Wednesday evening at the Harold Alfond Center in Standish, Maine in conference action.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • NEC senior center Kathleen Rodriguez (McFarland, Calif.) led the Pilgrims with 14 points and four rebounds, shooting 80 percent from the floor.
  • SJC sophomore forward Grace Ramsdell (Wells, Maine) led the Monks with 17 points and five rebounds.
  • NEC sophomore guard Makiah Scott (Washington, D.C.) dished out five assists for the Pilgrims, while scoring 11 points.
  • SJC senior guard Angelica Hurley (Groveland, Mass.) finished with 12 points and six assists.
  • NEC junior guard Krystle Medrano (Ontario, Calif.) scored a career-high nine points in just 12 minutes.
