HENNIKER, N.H. – New England College freshman forward
Jack Herron (Lake in the Hills, Ill.) of the NEC men's ice hockey team was named the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Rookie of the Week for the week ending January 21
st, 2024 in an announcement by the conference on Monday.
Herron, who cracked the Pilgrim lineup at New Year's, scored his first career goal on Friday evening at UMass Boston, his sixth career game. The rookie followed that up on Saturday at Johnson & Wales when he kept NEC in the game by taking part in all three 'Grim scores in a heart-breaking 4-3 loss, tallying a goal and two assists.
The rookie standout now has four points through just seven games for the season.
