BOSTON, MA- The New England College women's soccer team competed in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play against the Saints of Emmanuel College falling, 4-1 from Roberto Clemente Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first half was highly contested with strong defensive stands performed by both teams resulting in the first half being scoreless going into the half.
- Scoring commenced in the second as the Saints got on the scoreboard first with a goal coming from sophomore midfielder Maya Daryanani (Raynham, Mass.) assisted by sophomore defender Annebel Balogh (Grafton, Mass.).
- NEC retaliated with a goal of their own shortly after at the 51:39 mark credited to junior forward Shelby McBain (Indianhead, Md.) from sophomore forward Isabella MacGregor (Ottawa, Ont.).
- From there on is when the Saints offense began to roll as they scored straight goals that solidified their win in the match.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Sophomore goalkeeper Hollie Bomba (Seymour, Conn.) finished her afternoon with seven saves at the pitch.
- McBain scored her second goal of the season that was assisted by MacGregor.
- The Saints goals were earned by Daryanani, sophomore Sarah Dullaghan (Belmont, Mass.), junior forward Kaelyn Briscoe (Walpole, Mass.), and freshman forward Ciara Horan (Braintree, Mass.). Balogh gathered two assists while sophomore defender Alexandra Gencarelli (Bradford, R.I.) and senior defender Melissa Mauro (Old Lyme, Conn.) recorded one each, respectively.
