STANDISH, M.E.- The New England College men's soccer team was on the road for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup against the Monks of Saint Joeseph's College of Maine that result in defeat, 0-2 from SJC Athletics Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Both teams looked defensively stout in the first half of the game with neither team showing any give going into the half.

The second half is when the momentum started to pile on for the Monks as they found the back of the net at the 75:35 mark with goal from sophomore midfielder Joseph Perron (South Portland, Maine) with the assist credited to junior forward Gus Ford (Falmouth, Maine) and junior Rion Dos Santos (São Paulo Brazil).

Shortly after they followed up with another one taking place at 78:43 earned by Ford off a penalty kick that solidified the Monks conference victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

Junior goalkeeper Hayden Walker (Manchester, N.H.) finished the evening gathering two saves at the pitch.

Monks Perron and Ford recorded a goal while both Dos Santos and Ford gathered an assist, respectively.
