HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College men's soccer team took a non-conference loss against visiting Keene State College, their first of the 2023 season, on Monday evening at Don Melander Field in Henniker, New Hampshire.  

THE BASICS 
Score: Keene State 4, New England College 0 
Records: Owls 4-2-1 | Pilgrims 3-1-4 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• The Owls opened up the scoring just 3:17 into the game as junior Frank Mucyo (Concord, N.H.) got in behind the NEC defense and found the back of the net. Just six minutes later, at the 9:29 mark, Keene State would double their lead on a goal by junior Caleb Harmon (Somers, Conn.). 
• Keene would stay on the offensive as at the 21:03 mark, they would net their third goal of the game, this time by senior Mbambi Mbangu (Kambimba, DR Congo). The visitors would cushion their lead one more time with a goal by junior Matthew Monteserin in the 31st minute of the first half. 
• Neither team would convert on offense in the second half, resulting in a 4-0 victory for the Owls.  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

• NEC sophomore goalkeeper Logan Clough (Hillsborough, N.H.) tallied eight saves in his first start of the season.  
• Keene State sophomore goalie Eldin Husanovic (Manchester, N.H.) had seven saves for the Owls.
