Myrtle Beach, S.C. – The New England College baseball team went cold against the Framingham State University Rams in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in non-conference action on Friday morning and afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Rams came out fiery-hot as the first inning was all in their favor by pulling out a 6-0 lead and was highlighted by senior middle infielder Matthew Shaver's single that led to freshman catcher Ryan Plocker and freshman pitcher/outfielder Caleb Hendrix score.
• Framingham State scored a run in each of the third and fourth innings including doubles from Plocker and Hendrix to make it 8-0 Rams.
• NEC was not going to be obliterated in this game as senior outfielder Patrick Hagerty hit a single leading to freshman outfielder Harold Martinez getting a run to make it 8-1 in the fifth inning.
• The 'Grims remained optimistic as junior pitcher Brett Patnode hit a homer to bring the final score to 8-4 at the end of the fifth inning.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
• Framingham State was astonishing on the mound, as they threw 12 strikeouts to NEC's three.
• 'Grims junior pitcher Nolan Stoney threw two strikeouts and four hits.
• Rams junior pitcher Scott Nosky threw an incredible eight strikeouts and three hits.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Once again, Framingham State started out very strong as they ended the first inning with a 4-0 lead and was highlighted by junior outfielder Ryan Boyle hitting a single to right field leading to freshman outfielder Shane Costello scoring a run.
• The Rams continued momentum in the fourth inning as junior middle infielder Cam Gilroy scored off of a wild pitch and senior middle infielder Matthew Shaver scored after stealing third caused by a throwing error making their lead to 6-0.
• It continued to be all Framingham State as they scored four more runs all in the sixth inning to make the final 10-0 after a series of NEC mishaps.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
• Just like in game one, the rams were big on the mound by throwing 10 stakeouts to the 'Grims five.
• NEC freshman pitcher Christopher Chagnon threw two strikeouts and seven hits in a total of four innings pitched.
• Rams' sophomore pitcher Vincent LoGuidice had a great second game, with throwing seven strikeouts and allowing three hits.
