MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The New England College baseball team lost big against the McDaniel College Green Terror in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.
THE BASICS
Score: McDaniel College 23, New England College 10

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Through the first three innings, NEC had a tough start as they trailed 3-1. Senior outfielder Luca Giallongo scored off of senior infielder Tyler Gendron's single.
• The 'Grims did not back down in the fourth inning as junior pitcher/utility Brett Patnode hit a fielder's choice that led to senior outfielder Patrick Hagerty and freshman outfielder Ryan Cote to give them a 4-3 lead.
• From then on, the Green Terror used a 20-6 scoring run which was led by senior catcher Austin Goudeaux with five runs, and four hits from senior infielder Joey Hubinger.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
• Senior NEC pitcher Tim Krol had a long day on the mound as he threw 106 pitches that resulted in four strikeouts and only six hits.
• McDaniel junior pitcher Remy Mangum threw 45 pitches in three innings and struck out three 'Grims and allowed only three hits.
• NEC's hits matched their final score with 10, but the Green Terror scored 23 runs with only 18 hits.
• Both teams were efficient on the field as they each only gave up two errors.
