NORTHFIELD, VT – The New England College men's ice hockey team played at Norwich University on Friday at Kreitzberg Arena in Northfield, VT in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) action.
THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- First period was a defensive standstill throughout the majority of it up until the final eight seconds at 19:52 letting the puck into the back of the net shot by freshman forward Brady Harroun (St. Albert, Alb.) assisted by sophomore defender Matt Harvey (Fort Covington, NY) and junior forward Holden Douggett (Oakville, Ontario).
- The Pilgrims would continue their search for an equalizing goal into the third, and 3:06 into the final period NEC would finally find their answer to tie the game. Sophomore forward Lukas Washco (Darby, Penn.) would find the puck off a deflection to the weak side of the net and beat the Norwich goalie to net his third goal of the season, assisted by sophomore forward Kam Hellman (Macomb, Mich.) and sophomore forward Damon Dulac (Mascouche, Quebec)
- From that point on the Cadets took things into their own hands, taking the Pilgrims out of the game scoring three consecutive goals that earned them the conference victory on the evening.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- NEC Washco scores his third goal of the season of the season.
- NEC Hellman gathered his third assist thus far while Dulac recorded his first.
- NU Harroun earned the late first period goal with only eight seconds remaining.
- NU freshman defender Cooper Bertrand (Caledon, On.) scored the first goal of the third period off of a power play.
- NU's next goal came from junior forward Paul Schmid (Lindz, Austria).
- NU scored their final goal which resulted in an empty net that secured their victory by Senior forward Patrick O'Neil (Indiana, Pa.)
- NEC senior goaltender Kai Tomita, (Misawa, Japan) concluded his evening with 27 saves.
- NU freshman goaltender Byrce Walcarius (Alymer, On.) finished with 20 saves.
- Norwich outshot NEC 31-21 in shots on goal.
