HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College women's basketball team opened their 2023-2024 season with a 79-51 win over visiting Lesley University on Wednesday evening at the Bridges Gymnasium in Henniker, New Hampshire in non-conference action.

- NEC senior center Kathleen Rodriguez (McFarland, Calif.) led the 'Grims, scoring 15 points on seven-of-nine shooting with nine rebounds, playing in just 18 minutes.
- Lesley senior center Alexandra Kerley (Boca Raton, Fla.) led all players with 21 points and 17 rebounds for the Lynx, tallying five blocks.
- NEC sophomore guard Mackenzie McDonald (Boscawen, N.H.) exploded off the bench for the Pilgrims, scoring 15 points while pulling down five boards.
- Lesley freshman point guard Saniyyah Phillips (Boston, Mass.) scored 12 points with five steal in her first collegiate game.
- NEC senior guard Alissia Corona (Wylie, Tex.) finished with 12 points, three assists and three steals.
- Second-chance points were decisive in helping the 'Grims take control early on, as NEC would enjoy a 25-4 edge off pulling down a combined 24 offensive boards.

- Up next for NEC, the team travels to Castleton University on Friday to face-off against the Monks of St. Joseph's College of Maine in the Spartan Class. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
