Women’s Volleyball Hosts Keene State on Senior Day

HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College women's volleyball team concluded their regular season with a straight-set loss to visiting Keene State College on Saturday afternoon at Bridges Gymnasium in Henniker, New Hampshire.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Playing in the second-to-last home match of her career, NEC senior outside hitter Renee McBride-Rogers (Midwest City, Okla.) was honored during the pregame Senior Day ceremony, accepted a marriage proposal from her boyfriend, and then led the 'Grims with a match-high seven kills with two block-assists.
  • KSC junior middle-blocker Molly Wetherbee (Marblehead, Mass.) led the Owls with nine kills and three total blocks.
  • NEC senior middle-blocker Tatiana Sampson (Kailua, Hawaii) totaled two solo blocks, four block-assists and four kills.
  • KSC freshman setter Alexis Small (Londonderry, N.H.) set the table for the Owls with 27 set assists and seven kills.
  • NEC junior outside hitter Torrance Robertson (Bakersfield, Calif.) added five kills and two solo blocks.
SENIOR DAY
  • Prior to the game, the New England College women's volleyball program recognized this year's senior class as part of senior day. Sampson, McBride Rogers, graduate assistant coach Nearie Im and student assistant Laura Jacques were honored by coaches, teammates, family members and fans for all of their accomplishments at NEC both on and off the court. Although their time with the program may be coming to an end, they will forever be a part of the 'Grims family.
UP NEXT
  • NEC is back on the court on Monday when they host the University of Saint Joseph in the Play-In round of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament. Game time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
  • Keene State plays their next game at UMass Boston on Tuesday in the first round of the Little East Conference (LEC) Championship.
