HIGHLIGHTS
- After battling each other to a scoreless first period, the Panthers dominated the second against the Pilgrims, scoring three goals in rapid succession to take control.
- Down 4-0 and with just 6:28 to go in the game, the 'Grims dug deep and found an answer as NEC sophomore forward Meadow Gilchrist (Stamford, Conn.) took a pass on a breakaway and blasted it past the goalie for her second goal of the season, getting the Pilgrims on the board with assists to senior defender Isabella Borski (Eagle, Colo.) and junior defender Jessica Dutkus (Stafford, Va.).
- Then with 2:15 to go, it was again Gilchrist finding the back of the net for her second goal of the game, assisted by sophomore defender Gabrielle Iwinski (Batavia, Ill.) and freshman defender Mae Lafferty (South Boston, Mass.) to pull NEC to within two. It was as close as the Pilgrims would come, however, as the Panthers would hold them off in the closing moments.
